About KPM Logistics

Who we are

KPM was born more than 30 years ago in the basement of a house in Brussels.

Originally, the goal was simply to provide a fast, reliable service for carrying mail between Brussels and Kinshasa.

This is where the name "KPM" comes from — the initials stand for "Kin Personal Mail." That answers the question we're so often asked: where does the name KPM come from?

On its very first trip, KPM carried just three letters to what was then Zaire.

In the years that followed, KPM developed an Air Freight service alongside its Courier Freight service.

In 2012, KPM opened up its capital and welcomed two new partners, who brought fresh energy to the small family business — from then on known as KPM Logistics — and set it on a new growth path. The Express Freight service expanded. The Air Freight service grew. The Sea Freight service was launched. KPM Logistics also added a central purchasing service.

KPM Logistics also became an international company by opening its doors to new partners around the world. Today it operates across several continents, with partner agencies in Brussels, Liège, Paris, Germany, Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, Johannesburg, the USA and China.

In 2022, the founding partners left KPM Logistics, which continued the journey with DISTRILOG, its new partner in the DRC.

Our goals

The challenge for KPM Logistics' shareholder team is to maximise the flow of goods between as many countries as possible, to and from Sub-Saharan Africa — for both "Personal Effects" and "Commercial Goods" — while preserving the special relationship KPM Logistics maintains with its clients.
