What we do not carry

Our terms and conditions exclude from carriage:

pornographic or obscene content, human bodies, organs or body parts, dead or live animals, firearms and explosives, money, cheques, travellers' cheques and other commercial paper, jewellery, postal money orders and identity documents. KPM Logistics also reserves the right to refuse any goods classified as dangerous (DGR) under national and international regulations.

Fragile, perishable or high-value goods must be declared to us so they receive suitable packaging and handling — see also our insurance.

Customs and documents

For a "depot to depot" shipment to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, transport and customs are included in the price.

This arrangement covers goods classified as "personal effects". Should the customs service — which retains full discretion in the matter — consider the goods to be "commercial goods" instead, the additional clearance cost is borne entirely by the customer.

Import duties may be added on top. They are calculated on the CIF value (goods + transport) and customs retain full discretion: the customer must pay them on first request for the goods to be released.

Outside this arrangement, the cost of drawing up export and import administrative documents, along with the various charges and taxes, is borne entirely by the customer.

Full details are in our terms and conditions.

Most common additional fees

  • Handling fee: 5.00 € (+ 5.00 € for deferred payment).
  • Volumetric pricing: where the actual weight is lower than the volumetric weight (L × W × H in cm ÷ 6000), the latter is used. The difference is billed at 5.50 €/vkg to Kinshasa and 8.00 €/vkg to Lubumbashi and the other zones.
  • Repackaging: 10.00 €. Consolidation: 2.00 € per additional parcel.
  • Unidentifiable parcel: investigation billed at a minimum of 20.00 €, with no guarantee of result.
  • Undeclared dangerous goods (DGR): penalty of 10% of the value, with a minimum of 100.00 €.
  • Cash on delivery: 10% of the amount collected, with a minimum of 10.00 €.
  • Collection from a post office or pick-up point: 25.00 € per trip, against a power of attorney.
  • EXA document for VAT recovery: 25.00 € per supplier, allow ±6 weeks.

The full list is in the "Remarks / Additional fees" tab of the pricing page.

A change of recipient must be requested by email from the departure agency, a power of attorney from the destination agency. In every case, whoever collects the goods must show proof of identity.
