What we do not carry

Our terms and conditions exclude from carriage:

pornographic or obscene content, human bodies, organs or body parts, dead or live animals, firearms and explosives, money, cheques, travellers' cheques and other commercial paper, jewellery, postal money orders and identity documents. KPM Logistics also reserves the right to refuse any goods classified as dangerous (DGR) under national and international regulations.

Fragile, perishable or high-value goods must be declared to us so they receive suitable packaging and handling — see also our insurance.

Customs and documents

This arrangement covers goods classified as "personal effects". Should the customs service — which retains full discretion in the matter — consider the goods to be "commercial goods" instead, the additional clearance cost is borne entirely by the customer.

Most common additional fees

• Handling fee: 5.00 $ (+ 5.00 $ for deferred payment).
• Volumetric pricing: where the volumetric weight (L × W × H in cm ÷ 6000) exceeds the actual weight, it becomes the basis for the rate.
• Repackaging: 10.00 $. Consolidation: 2.00 $ per additional parcel.
• Receiving and processing an e-commerce order (Post, DHL, FedEx, UPS…): 10.00 $ per file.
• Undeclared dangerous goods (DGR): penalty of 10% of the value, with a minimum of 100.00 $.
• Cash on delivery: 10% of the amount, with a minimum of 10.00 $ for amounts below 100.00 $.
• Collection from a post office or pick-up point: fee per trip, against a power of attorney with proof of identity.
• Mail and parcels under 2 kg: payment in cash on drop-off, except for e-commerce orders.

A change of recipient must be requested by email from the departure agency, a power of attorney from the destination agency. In every case, whoever collects the goods must show proof of identity.

For a 60 × 40 × 40 cm suitcase weighing 20 kg, count $ 60.00. This amount excludes the handling fee.

How long does a shipment take from Kinshasa into the country?

Count roughly 5 days for Lubumbashi and 7 days for the other zones. For cities with irregular service, no transit time can be given.

Does my shipment go through customs?

No, this is a domestic route. The distinction between "personal effects" and "commercial goods" is still assessed by customs for imported goods, and any additional clearance cost is borne by the customer.
